Golden mylk, golden lattes and now golden smoothies… This one was made for my 1 year old Maxy and he LOVED it! I usually give him a smoothie for morning tea each day and try to make them as nutrient dense as possible by adding things like chia seeds, nuts, sunflower seeds, spinach, turmeric etc.
Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is high in antioxidants so I try to include a teaspoon of it in our diet everyday.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeic or try making some of my turmeric paste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 raw almonds
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 150ml water
- Add all ingredients to your blender or Thermomix and mix until smooth (TM Speed 10, 1 min)
- Pour into a glass and serve
If i’m making this for myself I would add 1 medjool date (pitted), a few iceblocks and would use a frozen banana instead of a fresh one. This would make it a little sweeter and thicker.
