Spelt Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 cups spelt flour (white, wholemeal or a combination)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbs of sweetener e.g. maple syrup, rice malt syrup or honey
  • Optional toppings- pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds or chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 175 degrees
  • In a Thermomix or food processor, mix together all ingredients until well combined
  • Pour mixture into a loaf tin that has been lined with baking paper
  • Sprinkle with optional toppings
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes or until golden
  • You can test if the bread is ready by tapping the top. If it sounds hollow it is ready
