How to Throw a Junk Free Kids Birthday Party

Healthy Party Food

We recently celebrated my son, Max’s First Birthday and I was very excited  for the opportunity to throw him a junk free party that was full of delicious unprocessed food which was free from refined sugar.

A lot of planning went into the menu and the great thing about a lot of the items was that I was able to make them ahead of time and store in the freezer. This meant that it wasn’t to crazy in the lead up to the party.

The cake was a two tied raw cake decorated with cashew cream stars and this cute cake topper from Kmart

The bottom layer was a Raspberry and Cream flavour which was made up of a smooth creamy vanilla mousse with a raspberry jam swirl through the middle and a chocolate base

The top layer was a beautiful Mango and Coconut mousse with a pistachio base

The Drinks

Strawberry and Orange Fizz

  1. In a a blender combine 1 cup of strawberries and the juice of 2 oranges until smooth
  2. In a jug or drink dispenser combine the mixture with 3 litres of sparkling water
  3. Add in some sliced oranges, strawberries and limes if you wish

The feedback I got back from everyone was fantastic, so it just goes to show that you can throw a junk free party with no sugar. I’m sure all the parents were happy too that there wouldn’t have been any nasties sugar tantrums!!

Super impressed with all the food you served – my only regret was that I was so full I couldn’t fit any cake in!
